Bergedorf Castle
29 September 2005

Bergedorf is a district from the city Hamburg, in the north of Germany.
I have worked in Bergedorf in a company for ten years. We had an hour lunch break every day and I have spent these time mostly in the big palace garden. It is the only castle on Hamburg's area from the medieval times.

Originally stood here a water-castle which has Albrecht von Orlamuende build in the year 1220. The dukes of Saxony took the castle some years later. The Hanseatic citys Luebeck and Hamburg conquered the castle in 1420.

Hamburg and Luebeck together dominate over Bergedorf for almost 450 years, into the European history a unequaled long time period.

Since the 15th century the castle was rebuilt and enlarged repeatedly. In 1868 bought Hamburg Luebeck's shares for 200,000 Taler and became an alone owner.

In the photos you only recognizes very few, since the sun was rising at this moment. On the last photo, the moon can be seen in the sky.

fun with hand grenades
26 September 2005

I have borrowed the title of my post from Dreadcow's Blog name. I was away in the Dueneberg forest and have stumbled over a heap of rusty objects. I have looked at that obstacle more closely and these were over thirty hand grenades.
The locking pins were almost completely corrode and I was very lucky for it they didnt explode!

This was sufficient fun in my opinion and now Im showing pictures from the forest in Kruemmel, in the other quarter from our city.

This is the old water tower in Kruemmel, the tower was built in 1917 because he was planned in the Hindenburg-program. Like by a miracle, he was only slightly damaged in the World War II. The tower is very unstable and should be blown up some years ago. This plan was rejected and he shall be restored soon.

I have taken this photo in the water tower, unfortunately, I couldn't get to the upper storys. The stairs are damaged very strongly and it would have been too risky.

This is a bunker for a single person and you can see him also in my first picture. If to penetrate bombers were reported, a man had to keep fire watch there. This man had to report the exact places of the bombs strike in, so that the fire department could react. There was very many of these bunkers, distributed on the whole area.

This is the entrance to a big bunker and I have only looked with a flashlight, I wouldn't like to be buried under a cairn.

This building is more than six meters high and has many branched walks.

The entrance in the close-up view.

Stairs to a upper story.

Another wrecked building.

A room of this building with windows.

This building is directly behind the water tower.

I had great problems with Blogger and needed almost four hours for this post. The whole week wasn't particularly good and I had many problems.
However, there was couple of positive news. I had sent Mauser*girl valuable objects for sale or exchange and she has brought me a great delight with that. She and SGT Trueman had become beautiful things for me and I am very grateful to both.

bullshit day
21 September 2005

Yesterday was a bullshit day, I got bad news. But the weather was very good!
I move around through the Dueneberg forest for relaxation. Dueneberg and Kruemmel is a quarter from the city in which I live.
In these forest was a very large ordnance factory located in both world wars. Today it is a lonelier and quieter place.

The ordnance factory was destroyed to the largest part on 7th April 1945 like the ordnance factory in the quarter Kruemmel. On this day 350 tons bombs were thrown off B-24 Liberator bombers from the 2nd/20th BG from 2nd AD on Dueneberg.

Few minutes later was the 14th/96th BG with his Liberator bombers over Kruemmel and threw off 452 tons bombs.
The ordnance factory in Kruemmel is older than in Dueneberg and was built from Alfred Nobel in the year 1865. He lived some years in our city and he invented the dynamite.

The photos which I made, are not good, but the photos obtain an impression of our landscape.

That is the largest received building in Dueneberg.

Grass, bushes and trees grew also at wartime on the roofs, these were cultivated for camouflage.

There are very many high dunes in this area. Because of these dunes the quarter of our city is called Dueneberg.

The forest consists of coniferous trees and deciduous trees.

The most lanterns are still located in the forest.

Only few were destroyed at the bomb attacks.

The walls are broke or over-grow.

And still more

The sun goes down and I must fast away from the forest. In the darkness it is very dangerous at this place.

Outside of the forest, a last view over a meadow...

a calm place
14 September 2005

I have made already longer no entry in my Blog.

I sat this evening two hours alone at this calm place.
My friends pleased the photos of my last entry and I hope this photo please you also. There is no flower, but I will see sufficient in some days.

Behind me is the high bank of the river Elbe with bombed bunker from the World War II. It is hardly conceivable that before sixty years the hell raved here. It was the famous day of the "ramming hunters" on 7th April 1945.

My dad celebrated his fifth birthday on this day. He and his brother was alone, like me on this day. My grandparents died 1943 at bomb attacks in Hamburg. Some hours ago I had to remember, therefore I write it now.
I love my dad and I hope he become very old.

Since Monday is my best buddy Tobias with his wife on honeymoon. He called me a while ago on my cell phone. In some days I show photos of the wedding ceremony here and write my experiences. I didn't forget it.

wedding ceremony
09 September 2005

My best buddy Tobias has married his fiancee Miriam today.
It was very beautiful and I will show some pictures here within the next days.

I have no time, in an hour I go to the wedding celebration.

On Sunday I write again.

Planten un Blomen
07 September 2005

I was with the youngest son of my sister on August 26th in Hamburg at "Planten un Blomen".
I had borrowed the digital camera from my older sister at the first time.

Here are a couple of shots, the boy on the shot is Florian, the son of my sister.

Berlin

I was in Berlin on the international radio and television exhibition at the weekend. Actually I didn't want to go to the "IFA" but I wanted to fulfill a wish for my cousin. My cousin has a cardiac defect and already had repeatedly operation. He is afraid of the next operation and he told me, he would like to go to the "IFA".

My cousin felt good and he was very happy.

I have driven with the car more than one thousand kilometers on Saturday and there weren't any unexpected incidents. Although I was very tired after this excursion, I have then gone to a celebration of my buddy Tobias in the late evening. Tobias marries his fiance Miriam on September 9th. Within the last few days I have supported him at the preparations and therefore I didn't have leisure time.

My sister has lent me her digital camera and I have taken a couple of shots in Berlin.

This is number twenty of the many exhibition halls.

I stand between the exhibition halls on the central festival ground. The one hundred and fifty meters high radio tower is in the background.

A look from the radio tower at the central festival ground and the exhibition halls.

Exhibition hall number twenty.

Exhibition hall and traffic.

Traffic from the other side.

Another car

The Victory Column in Berlin, I have made this shot from the car on the return journey.

to change

Shortly after I had written my entry "I'm ashamed", some things have changed.
The relief organizations collect donations and Germany has offered help for the victims of the natural disaster and also helped. Juergen Trittin is sorry for the many victims in America.

However, my senses of our government haven't changed.

The anti Americanism is very strong in all classes of society. Even when the Hurrican devastated parts of America, I heard many people dashing. I heard something, therefore I was very furious and wrote this entry.

The topic is completed with that for me.

a short note.
03 September 2005

I maybe don't have the time to write the next days, but I am OK. I have some things to report, in addition a supplement for my last entry.

I still must answer some comments in my Blog.

I write something to some entries into the Blogs of my friends the next days. Therefore Mauser*girl, Diana and European, please also read your older entries.

Within two or three days I am present again.

I'm ashamed
01 September 2005

I am ashamed of the German government and I feel very strange in our country. I'm missing the right words and I only can say FUCK YOU GERMANY!
I shit on the government and I hate their party members!

MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED BY THE NATURAL DISASTER HURRICANE KATRINA IN AMERICA!

The church and other aid organizations have not collected any donations and not offered help. They should be ashamed for her hypocritical.

Our government deride even the victims! Many innocent people have died. That's inhuman!

JUERGEN TRITTIN talks about the Kyoto protocol...
He shall be a conservationist?
For me, he is a hypocritical man. Preaching water and drinking wine. In my opinion YOU ARE A CRIMINAL and harm our country!

The cars got thriftier and thriftier within the last few years. Since our environmentally friendly politicians are at the power, the average consumption of their company cars has increased!?! They seeding hate against America and to bluster about Dr. Joseph Goebbels? Even for this demagogue, I have more respect than in front of you.

I HEREBY EXPRESS MY DEEP SYMPATHY FOR MILLIONS HOMELESS AND THOUSANDS OF DEAD AMERICAN PEOPLES!

shots part II

I have taken a shot of the sundown once again at the same location today. Mauser*Girl had written this I have a little talent. This has pleased me very much since she is a very good photographer. I had borrowed a better camera today. Better is exaggerated, it is a 69,- euro digital camera from the supermarket.

The shot shows the yacht port again but I stood on a bridge and not on the landing stage. I like the appearance of the waves.

This one has not turned out satisfactory, the spiders had ended the fight for the area too fast. It looked in such a way, as if the spiders want to attack the duck.

Within the following days I will take some shoots of other beautiful corners from our city.
